About The BugaBees
Missing out on certain foods doesn't mean missing out on all the fun! Just ask The BugaBees: Friends with Food Allergies. Based on the award-winning children's book by Amy Recob, BugaBees products are intended to inspire confidence and camaraderie among the millions of children all around the world living with food allergies. While a child can be allergic to any food, BugaBees characters are based on the top eight foods that account for 90 percent of all allergic reactions: peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, milk, soy, eggs, and wheat.
About Food Allergies
Every three minutes, food allergy reactions send someone to the emergency room. Approximately 15 million people in the United States have food allergies, with nearly 6 million of them being children. There is currently no cure for food allergies - strict avoidance of food allergens and early recognition, as well as management of reactions are essential in preventing serious health consequences. Even so, hope remains on the horizon, and organizations like FAACT, FARE and Kids with Food Allergies Foundation provide a wide range of resources and support until a cure is found.
